About Workman’s Compensation
In terms of the Lesotho Workmen’s Compensation Act 1977, it is a statutory requirement that compensation is offered for accidental injury, occupational diseases, or death while an employee is carrying out their duties at work.
LNIG Hollard’s Workman’s Compensation offers your employees the following cover:
- Death: 4 x annual salary with a maximum of M72 000
- Permanent Disability: 4.5 x annual salary with a maximum of M80 000, but restricted to lower amounts depending on the severity
- Temporary Total Disability: 75% of earnings with a maximum payout of M13 500, but restricted to a lower maximum depending on the severity
- Burial Expenses: Up to M5 000
- Medical Expenses: Artificial limbs, etc. to a maximum of M5 000. General medical fees to a maximum of M10 000. Transport to a maximum of M1500
