From Sales to Insights: Beatrice Sefeirt’s Qatso Story of Growth at LNIG Hollard

My journey with LNIG Hollard started with taking a leap into something I never thought I’d do. After graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, I returned to Lesotho full of dreams, only to realise that opportunities in my field were scarce.

The job hunt was tough, and to my frustration, everyone around me kept suggesting I become a maths teacher. It felt like no one quite understood my qualification, and I was running out of options.

One day, while scrolling through job listings, I stumbled upon an opening for a sales agent at LNIG Hollard. Sales had never been my thing, but I love a challenge, so I figured, why not? To my surprise, I got the job, and that’s where my journey began. From December 2021 to July 2022, I worked as a sales agent, gaining valuable insight into the business. Then came the graduate trainee program, and when LNIG Hollard started selecting candidates, my background in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics stood out. They saw an opportunity to place me in a role better suited to my skill set.

At LNIG Hollard, we live by the spirit of “Qatso!” a Sesotho word meaning “Level up.” And I truly did, from sales to data analyst graduate trainee to a full-time data analyst! One of the things I love most about working here is feeling heard and valued. I’ve had the chance to contribute to meaningful projects, and knowing that my efforts matter pushes me to keep growing.

As an analyst, my proudest achievement has been expanding my impact beyond just data. I’ve always been passionate about efficiency and finding better ways to work. By questioning processes, I discovered redundancies and managed to streamline workflows, automating manual tasks. The result? Huge time savings and a team that could focus on bigger, strategic goals.

I know data can feel intimidating to some, but I’m passionate about changing that mindset. Data isn’t just numbers; it tells a story, uncovers insights, and drives real impact. My goal is to make data accessible to everyone, helping businesses make smarter decisions, optimise processes, and grow.

LNIG Hollard is a place that fosters innovation and high performance, and I love being part of a culture that pushes me to develop my skills while making a meaningful contribution. The opportunities here are real, and I’m excited for what’s to come!
